RMIT University Project
November 2021
This project required me to produce a series of booklets in a group, visually presented with lengthy text over multiple pages, with the aim of maintaining continuity and interest in the reader. Each individual had to design their own, reflecting a selected theme for the entire publication.

Based on the SPACING theme that was assigned to us, different ideas on what direction to take were discussed between five people - Alana, Aysha, Kaixi, Mercy, and myself. Several concepts were brainstormed, including music, fashion/art & culture, nature, space, travel, architecture, and meditation. A poll amongst the group decided on the concept of fashion, with individual booklet topics developed on a specific era/trend. My spacing topics were ‘grid’ and ‘layout’, and my booklet explored the futuristic era/trend.
As a group, we decided that the layout for the booklet
would consist of:
• Magazine Vogue style front cover
• Contents on the first inside page then imagery on page 1
• Type topic - grid design - on pages 2 and 3
• Fashion topic - futuristic fashion trends - on pages 4 and 5
• Type topic - page layout - on pages 6 and 7
• Fashion topic - futuristic fashion trends - on pages 8 and 9
• References and credits on the back cover.
The fonts used are Bodoni for the headings and Gill Sans for the body copy and captions under images. We thought these would well relate to the topic, particularly Bodoni which refers to the Vogue logo and its appearance.
